SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018 (Tier-I, II, III, and IV)

SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is a four Tier examination and here we are going to explain all tier exam pattern one by one. So, let’s have a look at SSC CGL 2018 Exam Pattern.

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Pattern 2018

SSC CGL Tier-I examination will carry all objective type question and it is a computer based Test (CBT). Total 100 questions will be asked from 4 sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each section will carry 25 marks. Each right answer will be awarded by 2 marks and 0.50 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer as a negative marking. Exam timing is 60 minutes for normal candidates but 80 minutes for VH & applicants suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern 2018

SSC CGL Tier-II exam will carry all objective type question and it will be held via online mode. Questions will be asked from 4 sections - Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics, and General Studies (Finance & Economics). Exam timing is 120 minutes for normal candidates but 160 minutes for VH & applicants suffering from Cerebral Palsy.

  • The exam duration is 160 minutes for students who are visually handicapped (VH).
  • 0.50 Mark will be deducted as Negative Marking for each wrong answer in Paper I, III, IV and 0.25 marks in Paper-II
  • Paper-I & II are compulsory for all posts and Paper-3 is only for the “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler” Post. In addition to the Paper-4 is only the "Assistant Audit Officer” Post

SSC CGL Tier-III Exam Pattern 2018

SSC CGL Tier-III exam will be a descriptive type paper and will be held held via offline mode (Pen and Paper Mode). This exam will  be held for 100 marks. The Paper would comprise writing of a Passage of 250 words / Essay and Application /Letter Writing of approx 150 words.
