SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2018

SSC CHSL Tier- I Exam Pattern 2018

Note: An additional time period of 20 minutes will be given for VH/OH afflicted by Cerebral Palsy OH with deformity in writing hand candidates.

Additional information regarding the SSC CHSL Tier- I Exam Pattern are as follows:

  • The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi language for Part- I, III & IV.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC CHSL Tier- II Exam Pattern 2018

The Tier-II examination in this recruitment process will be a descriptive type test, in which every candidate will have to answer 2 questions (1 Essay & 1 Letter) in a time period of 1 hour. The exam pattern can simply be seen in the table given below:

Note: All the applicants will have to attain at least 33 % marks to clear this test. The candidates will be allowed to attempt the questions either in English or in Hindi.

SSC CHSL Tier- III Exam Pattern 2018 (Skill Test)

The SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam will be a Skill Test/Typing Test, which will be qualifying in nature. Moreover, candidates must also keep this thing in mind that their final scores would be determined on the basis of total scores obtained by them in Tier- I and Tier- II examination.

General Awareness

In this section, the questions are basically designed to test the candidate’s general awareness in terms of environment and society. Questions in this section are also designed to check out the knowledge of candidate in terms of current events and matters of everyday observation. Moreover, the section will also include questions related to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Geography, Culture, General Policy, Economic Scene and Scientific Research.

Note: The VH candidates with 40% and above visual disability and opting for SCRIBES will not get any component of Graphs/Maps/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning/Quantitative Aptitude section.

SSC CHSL Tier- II Syllabus 2018

The Tier 2 Examination of SSC CHSL will be basically a descriptive type test of 100 marks, which must be completed under the time period of 1 hour (20 minutes additional for candidates with VH/OH afflicted by Cerebral Palsy, OH with deformity in writing hand). This paper focuses on testing the writing skills of a candidate, for which he/she has to write an essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/Application of 150-200 words. Furthermore, there are some additional points, which a candidate will have to keep in mind, let’s have a look at them:

  • A candidate must score at least 33 percent marks to qualify Tier 2 exam.
  • The marks will be included in the preparation of merit list.
  • All the candidates will be offered an option either to attempt the paper in English or in Hindi.

SSC CHSL Tier- III Syllabus 2018

The Tier 3 examination will be a Skill Test/Typing Test, which will be qualifying in nature. After this, the final merit list of successful candidates will be made on the basis of total marks scored by them in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 examination. Apart from this, there are certain important points, which every candidate must keep in mind:

  • The candidate must maintain Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key per hour on computer.
  • Duration of test will be 15 minutes and the candidate must enter at least 2000 strokes of english letters in this time period.
